SENIOR PRODUCT SUPPORT ENGINEER
Job Description:
The job requires comprehensive knowledge of RF Engineering and consulting for completion of complex and advanced level assignments. The Sr. Product Support Engineer is responsible for independent problem solutions including root cause analysis, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity, initial system design and dimensioning, site identification and evaluation, software support, fault diagnoses, frequency planning and interference analysis. The engineer should be able to undertake network performance improvement tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The area of responsibility will generally cover, several of the following activities -
- Perform RF network design, planning and optimization activities
- Provide client support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone and other electronic medium.
- Ensure data integrity of various morphology/topography databases
- Identify and correct or advise, on operational issues in client computer system
- Configure software products to connect to application server
- Perform troubleshooting and provide analysis using company’s software products
- Perform evaluation and testing of new software releases
- Provide training to clients in the use of system and applications
- Performing trainings via Web sessions
- Support development of training material and technical manuals
- Support engineering documentation related to company’s software products
- Perform verification and acceptance related to company’s software products
- Perform network analysis and recommend solutions using company’s software products
- Undertake network performance improvement (KPIs) and optimization tasks
- Undertake BSS and/or UTRAN parameter audits, suggest and fine tune parameters
- Implement new S/W or BSS parameters for overall network improvement
- Work with Regulatory agencies on Spectrum Issues, plan long term frequency planning
Qualifications & Essential Requirements:
- Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience or Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering and 5 years relevant experience.
- Experience in RF wireless design engineering for a telecommunications systems. The work experience should be related to RF network and infrastructure planning, deployment and optimization experience.
- Must have experience in mobile radio propagation aspects through working on two of the following technologies – GSM/GPRS, CDMA/1xRTT, UMTS, EVDO or HSPA.
- Must have worked on any two of the following equipment - Ericsson, Nortel, Nokia Siemens, Motorola and Lucent.
- Must have worked on one or more industry acceptable performance data management tools, drive test tools and other optimization tools.
- Require travel at short notice and relocation within the USA.
